12 January, 2009
12 days. that's how long you have to wait for my first post of 2009. in case you have been waiting, then i would like to apologize. it's not because i'm busy or something like that. just doesn't have anything interesting to write here.
this week a tragedy hit my family. my brother, second in the siblings order, behind me, was involved in an accident. he was riding in a motorcycle, and was about to take a turn in a junction when a speeding car hit him on the side. thankfully, it's not fatal as he only suffered a broken leg and a few minor injuries.
now my brother had suffered a few injuries during his rugby playing career at school. in fact, he once dislocated his shoulder in a training. but this one is much serious than that, especially when he's going to be in a surgery for his injury. not only that, since my brother did not have a driving license, police are going to be involved in this matter. add insurance claim to the problem, and my parents are forced to "pays him a visit". in case you're wondering, he is studying in penang.
therefore, my parents had bestowed me with the responsibility as the "Guardian Of the House". heh. that means i have to take care of my two sister, who stayed because of school, as well as daily house chores, like cooking, cleaning and so on. being a professional slacker, this is surely a big task entrusted to me. but so far, i think i'm doing just fine. heh.
the task also however caused me to miss a mini reunion with my fellow friends. i got a very rare invitation by ridhwan serabut to watch the clash of the titans between man u and chelsea. apparently nazir kimpit also present. damn, how i miss watching football with my friends. screaming and shouting at every opportunity missed, slamming the table when not satisfied with the ref's call, it always made my day.
still, the manner of our victory brighten up the day a little bit. in fact, it even surprises me. 3-0. this is not the chelsea we know. it's like we're playing west brom or something. definitely now, the result will put more misery to the chelsea camp. and i'm sure at the end of season, scolari will be replaced. or at least that's where he's heading now. it's shame, because he had a very good record as a coach. but then, i guess day-to-day management might not suite him best.
now, to a more serious issue. the gaza conflict. no, it's not a conflict. i believe the word massacre will be more appropriate. it has been going for a long time now, yet it doesn't seem to be nearer to solution. more and more innocent people are killed, and it hurts even more to recognise them as our brother and sisters in islam.
i applauded the efforts of my fellow friends like hadi and reza, who keeps giving more and more info about what's happening there. i certainly hope that you guys will keep up you're good work. this is the least that we can do, other than prayers of course. i really hope that one day the victory against our enemies will finally be achieved.
i guess that's it for now. ciao.
