salah siapa?
20 September, 2008
salah siapa?

ugh..
14 September, 2008
wtf. this is it. if city won tonight, i am considering to start supporting them, the newly rich and arab owned neighbour of the devils.
ok. i might overreact there. but their performances were very poor, below their usual standard. liverpool was playing the elegant, sleek, sexy football that belongs to us, and we just watched with envy, unable to conjure anything similar. haiyaa, what happened?
on paper, it should be a walk in the park. the scousers was playing with their two best players on the bench. on our side, we have berbatov, eager to impress on his debut and wayne rooney who just started scoring again. meanwhile, liverpool got keane and kuyt, two strikers that just couldn't score. we had most of our first team players available, apart from the ronaldo scum, of course. we should have won this, easily.
yupp, we played good early on. we got on the scoresheet first. after then, it was all liverpool. they attacked, they attacked and they attacked, then poor ol' VDS made a silly mistake and liverpool scored their first goal against us since what, 2006? gosh, it was that long?
halftime whistle was blown, and fergie made a change at restart, bringing ol' giggs for carrick. a silly move. he should have bring hargreaves on. yes, he just recovered from injury, but then, i'm not sure a fit giggs would have been better. besides, hargreaves went on anyway, later in the game.
then, it happened again. giggs was the culprit this time around, refusing to clear the ball for a corner kick. instead, he tried to win a goalkick. bad choice, uncle. a fitter arbeloa stole the ball, then the ball went from kuyt to babel.. goal. 2-1 for liverpool, and my dad celebrated, much to my dismay.
to make it worse, vidic made stupid challenges, twice in a row, and got sent off. ugh, i sensed trouble. the defence are severely depleted, with fergie selling almost everyone to rivals, and now vidic are suspended.great.
still, there's no reason to panic. we were poor last season at this stage, and we still do the double! all we need to do is just to win our next games, that would be against, err.. villareal in the ucl and chelsea, AWAY. they have never lost at home in what, four years? nice, just what we needed, a tough opponent.
wtf. i really feel like supporting city now.

Paul Okon
08 September, 2008
not many footie fans have ever heard of paul okon, despite having played for as roma and leeds united during his heyday, winning 37 caps for australian national team and famously led the aussies to a memorable win over sven goran eriksson's england team in 2003.
so, after a colourful career that took him to italy, england and belgium, he decided to called it a day, after a brief stint with australian a-league side newcstle jets in june 2007.
however, he was convinced by tom beris, a fan and a park side footballer, to came out of the retirement, and join fellow former internationals to play for west ryde rovers in an over-35 competition. the team quickly became the talk of the town and powered through the division, despite at times being short of numbers due to other commitments.
yet, tragedy strucked when beris was diagnosed with cancer at the end of 2007. beris was a passionate football player, always the first to training and matches. even after he was diagnosed with cancer, he still attended the matches, lending the team his support when in truth he was the one who needed it.he passed away at the age of 44.
the living memory of beris in their minds spurred okon and his teammates as they finished the season undefeated, and in the process booked a date with epping eastwood in the grand final.
at the christie park, watched by hundreds of supporters on a freezing winter evening, okon came out lively, rallied his team with passes from the midfield, as his class shone throughout the match.
however, despite his courageous efforts, the team came up short, and were duly beaten 3-1. they had failed to deliver what could have been an excellent and fitting tribute to beris. sadness shrouded the team as they leave the field, obscured to the fans by the sights of the opposition celebrating their triumph.
dejected, okon walked slowly out of the pitch and shaked his opposition hands along the way. and as he make his way out, he almost certainly had whispered his goodbye to the beautiful game.
